2022 Spring One Acts

The Drama students at North Country Union High School are thrilled to be sharing not only one but THREE short One Acts with our families & community this spring! The shows take the stage starting @ 5pm on Thursday, May 19th (no livestream this time).
Each performance will be FREE to watch, however, we encourage our audience members to donate what they can at the door. Any contributions made are greatly appreciated and support future productions hosted at the high school.
Drama Company students will also be selling raffle tickets at the door! All items in the raffle come from our own local businesses and these funds will support the students that attend the Performing Arts Enrichment Trip to NYC next spring!
If you have any questions regarding this event, please reach out the NCUHS Dance & Drama Teacher, Taryn Colby Taryn.Colby@ncsuvt.org
Puzzle Pieces by Krista Boehnert
This play explores teen issues through a series of monologues. The characters speak frankly about their fears, their futures, and their day to day life. The serious dramatic scenes are balanced with humour, and the play is ultimately uplifting. The characters choose to embrace life and all its struggles, rather than shy away from it.
Superstitious by Marelle Mosher
Written by one of our very own Drama Company students, this play addresses a few of the theater superstitions that have been around for centuries! The actors & director experience mysterious things in the theater while they are trying to get through a rehearsal – will they come out alive?
The Rehearsal by Don Zolidis
A young teacher tries to pull off a production of Guys and Dolls, but putting a musical together is never easy, especially with a megalomaniacal stage manager, a lead who’s convinced that Wicked is a much better show, and a girl who is clinically incapable of following directions (she has a doctor’s note to prove it). And to make matters worse, there aren’t nearly enough guys to be the Guys. A hilarious and poignant look behind the scenes of a drama club production filled with — what else? — lots of drama
