The Circumburke Challenge to Return to Kingdom Trails, October 13th.
September 25, 2018
East Burke, VT September 25, 2018 – Kingdom Trails and the Victory Hill Sector
In it’s 9th year, Vermont’s favorite backcountry epic, the Circumburke Challenge, will once again be presented by the Kingdom Trail Association and Victory Hill Sector trail networks this coming October 13th.
This 26 or 52 mile trail run or mountain bike ride is a fundraiser for trail building and maintenance and will be held on the Burke area’s trifecta of trail networks; Kingdom Trails, Victory Hill Sector, and Burke Mountain Bike Park. With over 650 participants last year, people have come to love the Circumburke Challenge for the backcountry adventure and the easy going vibe of the day. According to Abby Long, Kingdom Trail’s Executive Director, “Whether you choose to hit the Circumburke at a wild pace or chill with your friends along the way, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors on a fall day in the Kingdom.”
The course is fully supported with aid stations every 5-6 miles. Plus permission is given for this one day event from Vermont State Parks and Recreation as it travels through Darling State Park, circling around Burke Mountain, the neighboring Mt. Umpire, and back to Burke Mountain Base Lodge where participants will find warm food, hot fire, and friends at the finish.
