Summer Activities

Summer is a great time to visit the Jay region! Activities abound: Visit Montgomery for a dog-carting adventure or try a guided canoe tour down the Clyde River. Summer at the Top of VT is a time to enjoy all that Vermont has to offer. Fabulous Green Mountain views along the world-famous Jay Peak Resort, to great shopping and dining, you pick at a local organic berry farm, swimming our lakes and creeks, fishing,hiking horseback riding and much more.The annual area events taking place are August West Festival and Jay Summer Fest. Visitors and residents celebrate anything and everything! Please join us for BBQ, beer, crafts  and music.   


Autumn Activities

Fall in the Jay Peak Region at the Top of VT brings the FIRST of autumn color in the state of Vermont. Visit here mid September thru mid October for a better understanding of “autumnal grandeur” in the Northeast Kingdom.  Take a guided tour, a Tram ride up Jay Peak or guide yourself through some of the most scenic areas in the state. North Hill Road lined with maples is noted to be one of the most beautiful country roads in the area at this time of the year.  In the fall, you can also visit our many area craft fairs, holiday bazaar’s and the annual Bean & Brew Fest at Jay Peak Resort.

Winter Activities

Ski, snowboard, snow-shoe, go sledding, sleigh ride, snowmobile, cross country ski or ice fish, ice skating  & hockey, Jay has plenty of activities utilizing the best part of winter. The snow. The resort offers over 50 miles of downhill skiable terrain, 385 acres, on two interconnected mountains with 76 groomed trails,(20% novice, 40% intermediate, 40% advanced) and glades!  Cross Country skiing with and around a groomed golf course or Snowmobile the V.A.S.T Trail. Enjoy the day  with friends and family at your own pace. Rental gear and snowmobile rentals available at the Top of VT.


Spring Activities

While the snow melts and the official start of mud season begins, the earth has a spectacular way of waking up from a “long winter’s nap”. We call it sugaring season,  (aka spring). Making the end of one season in the Northeast Kingdom  a little sweeter and easier to swallow. Maple producers prepare year round for this six weeks of tireless work. Stop by a maple shop or sugar house to see these folks prepare Vermont’s best known agriculutural product.  Maple syrup.  Perhaps you will be lucky enough to sample a little sugar on snow?

If you prefer an indoor experience the Pump House Indoor Waterpark, local museums, shopping, the many dining opportunities in the are are a beautiful way of spending the day.  The Top of VT has something for everyone!
