The swim was founded by Elaine Kornbau Howley and Phil White in 2011 with the purpose of re-opening the border to international swimming on Lake Memphremagog.  The mission of the swim is to seek our lake’s swimmer friendly lake creature, Memphre, and to promote a more open border with our Canadian friends.  Since then, 24 amateur swimmers have completed the full 25 miles and many more have made it across the border.

On line registration for all NEKOWSA swims in 2018, including In Search of Memphre, Kingdom Swim, and NEK Swim Week, is now open at www.kingdomgames.co
